Abstract

One of the game-changing points in straw alternatives is the shift from plastic straws to eco-friendly straws, such as bamboo. The increasing concern with plastic straws, especially those used for food packaging, flooding the water bodies and landfills across the world has made the problems with single-use plastic evident. Hence, the researchers conducted this study to prevent manmade calamities. The researchers used the qualitative method. The research involved 50 selected grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and ManagementStrandstudents. Three variables, such as reducing the use of plastic straw, ensuring students’ and teachers’ health, and lessening plastic garbage, were considered regarding the use of bamboo stick straw. Reusable bamboo straws are a great place to start when reducing plastic pollution because it is 100% biodegradable and washable. In addition, using bamboo straw has many advantages, such as saving money, creativity, and so on. This study showed that bamboo straws can be used every time and will look great in any drink. Bamboo is completely natural, and straws grow without the need for any harmful pesticide or chemical. Bamboo is also fully biodegradable, and will not contribute to the damage that single-use plastic is causing to oceans, rivers, and wildlife habitats all around the world.
