Advantages of Recycled Plastic Materials in Creating Unique Products in Selected ABM Strand Students in Bestlink College of the Philippines

Abstract

The research focused on recycling plastic waste, specifically plastic bags into a new product, that is, belt. The study revealed the aspects that may lead to the advantages of recycled plastics in creating belts in selected male Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strandstudents in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Qualitative research was used in this study using the descriptive research design. This study involved 50 selected Grade 12 ABM students. Three variables, such as students' creativity; extra income; and a fashionable, durable, unique, and affordable product, were the advantages of making belts from plastic. One of the advantages of recycling is having extra money by selling products made from recycled plastics and making it a business. The effects of inappropriate waste disposal also have a detrimental impact on students’ health because it can cause diseases. The study revealed that belts created using recycled plastic bags are useful and can be worn by male students. Hence, plastic bags are not scattered everywhere, which can increase the amount of garbage. Thus, students are less likely to contact diseases due to a dirty environment.
