Effects of Gallon Trash Bin on Garbage Disposal of ABM Grade 12 Students in Bestlink College of the Philippines

Abstract

Many schools have a problem, one of which is the trash that the students throw anywhere and get stuck in the drainage. The researchers found a solution in this problem, that is, having a unique gallon trash to motivate students to properly dispose their trash; this can lessen the space for trash in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Unique gallon trashcan can help our school, environment, and society. In this study, the researchers can assure the cleanliness of many schools, environment, and society. A qualitative method was used in the study. Using descriptive research design, it focused on the effects of creating a unique galloon trashcan in preventing the improper disposal of garbage of the ABM student in Bestlink College of the Philippines. We conducted survey questionnaires for the selected 50 Grade 12 ABM students. The results of the survey showed that 40 out of 50 students from our respective school agreed that unique gallon trashcan has unique functions and is convenient. The results demonstrated the need for the teachers and school administrators to guide the Bestlink students on how to ensure proper waste disposal. The study concluded that the (1) cleanliness of hallway depends on how the students maintain the proper disposal and (2) the cleanliness of the classroom, that is, the students putting their trashes in a right trash can, always follow proper disposal.
