Abstract

This research focused on the advantages of using a bottle sprayer to lessen the amount of water in watering the plants. This study aims to create an alternative way to make new things with the help of used bottled water. One of the problems in our community is waste segregation. This alternative water sprinkler is made to lessen plastic bottle waste and conserves water. This study aimed to create an alternative way to make new things with the help of used bottled water. Overall, this study aimed to educate students on how to make a new product out of recyclable materials. This study was limited only to selected Grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strandstudents at Bestlink College of the Philippines, Novaliches Quezon City. This study was conducted in S.Y. 2019–2020 to determine the advantage of using a bottle sprayer as an alternative sprinkler. The information needed will be gathered using a checklist-style questionnaire. The researcher gathered information by analyzing, classifying, and tabulating data. The respondents of this study were 50 randomly selected grade 12 ABM Strandstudents from sections 12-08 and 12-17. Alternative sprinklers reduced the amount of waste and reduced the negative impacts of waste materials on human health. In terms of waste management, alternative sprinklers reduced waste, especially the plastic bottles that are generally found in the trash. Waste can be more productive and convenient. In terms of water conservation, alternative sprinklers minimized the amount of sprinkled water when watering plants. In terms of eco-friendliness, alternative sprinklers made our surroundings presentable to look at when recycled materials are being used. It has been a huge issue regarding plastic contamination. It can destroy the lives of animals, especially those in oceans. Flooded bottles that have been thrown in the oceans may kill and contaminate fish; if we eat contaminated fish, then we will also become contaminated. A single bottle will take years to break down into pieces; hence, instead of throwing it, people must work together to develop a process and recycle plastic bottles and then convert them into useful items. The study revealed that using a bottle sprayer will be helpful and extremely convenient to use for Grade 12 ABM Strandstudents.
