Abstract

An inventory management system is the combination of technology, processes, and procedures that oversees the monitoring and maintenance of stocked products, whether those products are company assets, raw materials and supplies, or finished products ready to be sent to vendors or end consumers. A key function of inventory management is to keep a detailed record of each new or returned product when it enters or leaves a warehouse. KPCG Computer Trading is a computer shop that sells good-quality products and is located at Unit 11 3rd floor, Aurora Garden Plaza Building, Gilmore Ave., Balansa, Quezon City. The shop was started on June 5, 2012 with 10 employees. The researchers used the waterfall method and the systems development life cycle to complete this project. In the system planning stage, the group started to plan how to complete our project. In the requirement analysis stage, the system analyst interviewed the client. In the system design stage, the programmer started to write down code and design the system. In the system deployment stage, the researchers started to deploy our system. Afterward, in the system testing stage, the researchers attempt to test the system to ensure that all its functions are working properly. In the system implementation stage, the researchers implemented their project to the client. In the system maintenance stage, the client suggested updating their system, or the system itself needs to be updated to become a modern system. In this process, the researchers overcome the problems by achieving their goals to help KPCG Computer Trading with their problems in sorting/monitoring and adding equipment and tools. The results showed that the researchers developed a successful system. The system had a login page, a page where the admin can input and add data to the database, and an issue item page where the user can monitor the products with problems; the system also had a suppliers page, a report page, a backup page, and settings page. The inventory system focused only on sorting/monitoring and adding equipment and tools/items. This system also focused on how many products are received. The system will lessen the errors that have been encountered by the users and manage the miscalculation of all supplies by handling the item record and creating a fast way to monitor/sort and add equipment and tool/item to make sure that the data are correct, free error, and up to date.
