Abstract

Pollution continuously spreads and affects some areas, thereby polluting our environment. Hence, we created a new product made of plastic caps to minimize the garbage around us. We need to know the importance of recycling and proper waste management. The objective of this research was to lessen waste on the environment and create a new product that will contribute to our society. Knowledge and creativity help create new products made of plastic waste. The research focused on minimizing the amount of garbage thrown by Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strand students. The study showed the benefits of using trashcans made of plastic caps in minimizing waste for selected Grade 12 ABMStrand students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. A qualitative method was used in this action research by using the descriptive research design. This study involved 50 selected Grade 12 ABM Strand students. Four variables, such as minimizing garbage, how the trashcan helps the students, the impact of a recycled trashcan on the environment, and how this study can help future researchers, were considered the benefits of using trashcans made of plastic caps. The recycled trashcan attracted the students to use it for its purpose. This product was also effective for the proper waste management of students. This study encouraged grade 12 students to be creative in recycling plastic waste; the students’ creativeness became an eye-opener for them. The study revealed that recycled trash also had other benefits in addition to helping the environment by reducing plastics; it also improved the creativity of students by reducing plastics and the creativity of students by making other products with recyclable materials. The researchers recommended that school administrators should have many related activities on saving our environment, proper waste segregation, workshops, and seminars about recycling that they can do in their homes. In addition to having wider knowledge about this topic, the students' creativity will be improved because these activities will teach them to be innovators while helping the environment.
