Abstract

We mostly linked air pollution to smokes coming from factories, cigarettes, and emission exhaust by vehicles, but these are all an example of outdoor air pollution. Our home and even our classrooms can be polluted too because the pollutants or harmful particulates are being trapped inside our home or classrooms, thereby resulting in a high chance of being contaminated by those pollutants. If not properly controlled, then indoor air pollution can completely affect the health and cognitive performance of the students in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Hence, we came up with the concept of having an air purifier that is more efficient and more energy-saving as an alternative replacement for ornamental plants; we named it “Bladeless Air Purifier” based on the creative enclosure concept of Air Multiplier made and designed by famous industrial Engineer James Dyson. This study focused on how Bladeless Air Purifier can decrease the number of harmful pollutants inside the selected classroom in Bestlink College of the Philippines because the rooms lack ornamental plants that are necessary to have healthy and pleasant air. The research method used was descriptive. The respondents were Grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management Strand students of Bestlink College of the Philippines, S.Y. 2019–2020. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling to gather all the necessary data from 10 respondents in every section to represent the whole population. Based on the data we have gathered, most of the respondents said that having a Bladeless Air Purifier inside the classroom helped them absorb their discussion easily and made them feel comfortable. This study recommended that the administration of Bestlink College of the Philippines should create a project wherein the students are required to build their own Bladeless Air Purifier as an alternative replacement for ornamental plants.
