Abstract

This research focused on establishing a combining commercial business with a proposed name Hush Bar “Movie House and Bar” to be located at #931 Quirino Highway, Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City. The business concept provides an innovative and new experience to the customers, offering different kinds of light beers, nonalcoholic drinks, and snacks that is compatible with the place or the combining concept of “Movie House.”This business is affordable and has a relaxing ambiance where one can be comfortable to relieve stress and chill in a picnic-style while watching a collection of downloaded movies and series from Netflix. The researchers idealized to combine a movie house and a bar to give a new level of entertainment and fun. The proposed business will be named “Hush Bar;” the word “hush” is the synonym of chill out or to put at rest while the “bar” refers to a retail establishment, serving alcoholic beverages. The proponents primarily considered focus group discussions and participants’ observation as possible research methods due to the behavioral elements contained in this research, followed by an ocular visit to the business site. The proponents used survey questionnaires with 100 respondents. According to the survey, male respondents had the highest percentage in the conducted survey with 57% compared with female respondents with only 43% under ages 18 and above. Hush Bar offers to watch a collection of downloaded movies and series from Netflix with different kinds of snacks, such as popcorn, Buffalo wings, nachos, onion rings, and cut fruits, along with beverages, such as light beers and nonalcoholic drinks. Hush Bar also provides different kinds of fully air-conditioned rooms such as Chill box A, Chill box B, and Chill box C. A total of 95% of the respondents are already familiar with a bar, and 92% are familiar with movie houses. A total of 98% of the respondents love watching movies, and a majority prefer to watch a comedy movie. After research was conducted on significant aspects such as the process involved in the preparation of products, marketing, finance, and socioeconomic aspects of this business, Hush Bar is highly recommended to be established. The proponents had come up with the following financial projections. Hush Bar is forecasted to havea10% increase in service revenue annually. The cost of sales is assumed to increase by 10% annually.
