Abstract

Fire safety in educational institutions is a critical concern, as it directly impacts the well-being of faculty, students, and the learning environment. As a center for education and community development, Bagumbong High School recognizes the importance of providing a safe and secure space for its members. With growing awareness of fire hazards and their potential risks, a thorough assessment of the school’s fire safety and prevention management is essential. Fires not only pose an immediate threat to life and property but can also have lasting consequences on the school system, community morale, and the institution’s reputation. The researchers employed a quantitative approach, utilizing mathematical data to analyze survey results and address the study’s objectives. The respondents included members of the School Disaster Risk Management Council (SDRMC) at Bagumbong High School, totaling 60 participants: 20 SDRMC members, 20 students, and 20 Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) representatives. These respondents were selected based on their familiarity with emergency response protocols, ensuring valuable insights into fire safety and prevention measures. The study results indicate that the majority of respondents 'strongly agree' that individuals at Bagumbong High School are highly aware of fire safety and prevention measures. The study found that most respondents are highly aware of fire safety and prevention measures at Bagumbong High School. Based on these findings, we recommend implementing regular training sessions for students, teachers, and staff on fire safety protocols, evacuation procedures, and the proper use of fire extinguishing equipment. Additionally, efforts should be made to enhance awareness of fire hazards, prevention strategies, and the importance of prompt action during emergencies. Reviewing and updating evacuation plans to ensure they are clear, accessible, and well-understood by all members of the school community is also essential.

These conclusions emphasize the critical role of proactive measures in maintaining safety at Bagumbong High School in Caloocan City. The evaluations highlight the need for comprehensive education and prevention management to promote fire safety awareness among students and ensure a secure learning environment.
