Abstract

On-the-job training (OJT) is crucial for students to learn about their chosen careers and the workplace realities. However, the pandemic has affected certain laboratory activities, causing new hires to learn incorrect job completions. OJT students must uphold good work ethics, such as punctuality, collaboration, and adherence to company rules. It exposes students to opportunities and provides firsthand experience, helping them prepare for the real world of employment.

This chapter outlines a systematic approach to gathering data for business decision-making, utilizing methods such as publication research, interviews, surveys, and analyzing current and historical data. RESEARCH DESIGN. This study utilized a descriptive method to describe data and characteristics, utilizing narrative explanations to interpret the gathered data. RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY The study focuses on assessing the impact of On-the-Job training program on 4th-year college students' employability skills and career readiness during the 2023-2024 school year. SAMPLING TECHNIQUE This study involved 50 (4th year) students in the On-the-Job training program, using purposive sampling to collect data. INSTRUMENT USED On-the-Job training program enhances skills, personal qualities, and knowledge for BSHM students, addressing challenges like lack of required skills, lack of experience, and knowledge gaps. VALIDATION The research instrument was validated by an advisor, grammarian, and experts, and pre-tested with two BSHM fourth-year 4th students. ADMINISTRATION The researcher obtained management's permission to distribute a questionnaire, selected respondents, and distributed it personally, ensuring all questionnaires were recovered.

The researchers described that the challenges encountered by the respondents during OJT training that the Major Challenge are Lack of experience and training, lack of supervisor, lack of confidence while the time is moderate challenge in terms of OJT training program.

Students are strongly encouraged to participate in an OJT training program to boost their self-esteem and prepare for the future since after completing the program; Future Researcher needs to carry out further investigation for CONTRIBUTION OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROGRAM TO THE EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS FOR CAREER READINESS: TOWARDS A GUIDE to more fully comprehend the benefits and challenges of OJT.
