Abstract

Technology is everywhere. Computers are used in almost everything in everyday life. Students understand the physical world around them and the concepts of technology programs. Students need to learn the traditional way of doing things and activities. Young generations start to use computers at a very young age, and they are maturing in a world of instant answers and satisfaction. Technology has several impacts on the lives of people, but several downsides cannot be abandoned at present. The researchers sought answers to the following questions: 1. How can technology be described in terms of 1.1objectives and 1.2 procedure to become technology literate? 2. How does technology affect the employability of students at Bestlink College of the Philippines Bulacan? 3. What are the effects of technology on students in terms of 3.1 positive and 3.2 negative effects? 4. What are the problems met by technology users and how are these addressed? 5. How may the findings can be utilized in designing a guide to encourage more students to utilize technology in learning? This study utilized the descriptive method of research. The results showed that technology aims to improve communications, provide high-effect universal access to students, and understand the coding basics. Technology has a considerable effect on the employability of students in their careers for them to become more efficient in the future. Technology has a high effect in improving the skills of the students, but it is highly effective and can cause addiction if abused. In terms of the problems met by technology users, the first three are students’ loss of boundaries with the virtual/online world, exclusion of health issues, and loss of real-world social skills. A guide was formulated with high effect to encourage more students to utilize technology in learning. The researchers recommended the following. The government and institutions should provide seminars to enrich the students’ skills in using technology. The institution should provide proper ICT facilities, such as ICT-integrated classrooms and laboratories. The institution should provide proper ICT materials, such as computer units and Internet connections. The students should also be equipped with complete technology in learning. For future researchers, this study may serve as a guide or reference in conducting more research about technology.
