Abstract

Regardless of medium, records management is the oversight and administration of digital or
paper records. The processes involved in records management include production,
receiving, upkeep, usage, and disposal. A record is an information that describes a
commercial transaction in this context. The purpose of this study is to determine the
challenges encountered in record management at Barangay 178 Camarin, Caloocan City.


Our results showed that the majority of the employees of Barangay 178 Camarin, Caloocan
City employees, were experiencing problems and challenges when it comes to data storage,
with a weighted mean of 2.83, followed by the problems they encountered in data capture
with a weighted mean of 2.76, and also the data accuracy with a weighted mean of 2.68.


The researchers provide some questions that will determine the information that they
encountered in terms of record management. Data storage presents the employees of
Barangay 178 Camarin in Caloocan City with the biggest difficulties. They frequently run into
problems with inventorying and tracking files, which takes up time. The experts advise
having an appropriate and secure location for inventories as well as one employee who will
be in charge of managing those documents and files in order to prevent situations like that.
