Guide in Selecting and Purchasing Parts of Local Area Network with Tutorial to Establish

Abstract

This project is a guide on how to select, purchase, and establish a part of the local area network (LAN), which includes actual computers; their network interfaces; and all switches, hubs, routers, and other special-purpose bits of technology that route your communications. Finally, there is a cable or its wireless equivalent. All these components work together to create functioning networks. This chapter focused on selecting and establishment of appropriate LAN parts for a network. This technology included some interesting modern alternatives, such as wired networking and wireless networking. During the planning stage, we prepared a questionnaire to survey the respondents and gather information to buy good-quality parts of LAN. We also selected the needed length of the area network. In the development stage, we prepared a comparative table of all available LAN parts in the market. Afterward, we established a LAN for tutorial parts. Intelligently sharing means that each computer that shares resources with another computer or computer maintains control of the resource. Thus, sharing a single printer between two or more computers does not qualify as a network device; a computer does not know when the other one needs to print and can potentially interfere with each other. You can share or access many different types of devices over a network, but the most common devices include the following: printers, storage drives, modems, cameras, media players/recorders, and game consoles. This paper is a guide in selecting/purchasing parts of LAN. This is our way to inform our client on what parts or what is the appropriate way to set up the LAN because it is a form of computer and component in a single office or building.
