Abstract

One of the problems in the Philippines is the congested, dirty, and messy market that results in overcrowded markets because of the large number of people. It also results in traffic. Thus, the researchers constructed a convenient, clean, and improved miniature of the market in Bagong Silang Phase 1 Caloocan City to determine its acceptability. Quantitative research was used as the research design for the study, and purposive sampling and simple random sampling techniques were utilized to select five civil engineers and 4th-year Architecture students of Bulacan State University as respondents who assessed the level of acceptability of renovated market miniature in terms of construction materials, procedural methodology, renovated area, and actual project design. The study used a survey questionnaire to gather data from the two groups of respondents. The results of the study in terms of construction materials, procedural methodology, renovated area, and actual project design was highly acceptable. Therefore, the difference between the assessments of two groups of respondents in terms of the cited variables is not significant. Civil engineers obtained an overall weighted mean of 4.24, which was interpreted as highly acceptable with a variance of 0.0004. Meanwhile, Architecture students obtained an overall weighted mean of 4.28, which was interpreted as highly acceptable with a variance of 0.003. Both groups of respondents had the t-computed value of 0.125 and degree of freedom of 17 with a value of 2.567. The t-computed value was greater than the t-critical one. Therefore, the assessments of the two groups of respondents are acceptable. The subsequent discussion forwarded by the two groups of respondents are as follows: use thicker and new cardboard to enhance its hardness and improve the appearance and improve the design of the miniature to improve the appearance. The researchers should pay more attention to constructing the renovated market miniature for a better appearance.
