A STUDY OF TRAFFIC CONGESTION ALONG SUSANO ROAD, NOVALICHES, QUEZON CITY: BASIS FOR IMPROVE TRAFFIC MOVEMENT

The primary objective of this study is to examine the factors contributing to traffic congestion along Susano Road in Novaliches, Quezon City, Philippines, to provide valuable insights for enhancing traffic flow in the area. The research utilizes a qualitative approach through survey questionnaires conducted with commuters, motorists, and local stakeholders. This qualitative component focuses on gathering their perceptions, experiences, and suggestions regarding the causes and effects of traffic congestion, as well as potential solutions. The study involves fifty (50) road users, divided into five categories: 10 commuters, 10 motorists, 10 private vehicle drivers, 10 public vehicle drivers, and 10 traffic enforcers along Susano Road in Novaliches, Quezon City. The findings reveal that the majority of respondents are males aged 18–25 years old. Based on the analysis, the study proposes a multi-faceted approach to improving traffic flow on Susano Road. This includes infrastructure enhancements such as road widening, intersection improvements, and the implementation of traffic signal synchronization to optimize traffic movement The insights from this study provide valuable guidance for policymakers, urban planners, and transportation authorities in designing targeted interventions to alleviate traffic congestion along Susano Road and enhance mobility in Novaliches, Quezon City. By addressing the root causes of congestion and implementing evidence-based solutions, the community can develop a more efficient and sustainable transportation system, fostering economic growth and improving the overall quality of life for residents.
