EXPLORING POLICE OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE AS IMPLEMENTED BY POLICE STATION 6 QUEZON CITY POLICE DISTRICT

Abstract

Police operational procedures serve as essential guidelines for officers in interacting with the public, responding to criminal incidents, and conducting arrests. These protocols are designed to uphold professionalism and consistency within law enforcement, particularly at Police Station 6, Quezon City Police District. By promoting transparency and preventing the misuse of power, standardized procedures assist officers in managing high-pressure situations with reduced risk to both themselves and civilians. Effective implementation of these procedures relies on the collaborative effort between police personnel and the community to ensure accountability and trust. This study employs a quantitative research approach. Data are gathered through a researcher-made survey questionnaire using a Likert scale. The respondents include thirty-five (35) non-commissioned police officers from Police Station 6, categorized into Junior and Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs). Purposive sampling is used to select participants best suited to address the research questions. The research instrument was validated through consultations with the research teacher and adviser to ensure its reliability and accuracy. Survey administration was conducted personally by the researchers to ensure proper engagement with police personnel. The assessment of the operational procedures implemented in Police Station 6 yielded an overall weighted mean of 4.0, interpreted as "Strongly Agree." All indicators received equal scores, reflecting strong agreement among respondents regarding the clarity of the review, the accuracy of its findings, the value of its recommendations, and the sufficiency of evaluation data. The results confirm that the review comprehensively assessed the effectiveness of the station’s operational procedures. The findings indicate that the respondents strongly agree with the implementation of police operational procedures in Police Station 6. The study highlights the importance of regular evaluations in refining operational processes, enhancing future policing strategies, and promoting accountability. A transparent and impartial evaluation system is essential for continuous improvement, ensuring that police operations remain efficient, ethical, and aligned with community needs.
