Abstract

The rapid growth of the e-commerce sector necessitates a workforce that is both adaptable and highly skilled to meet evolving market demands. However, many organizations continue to depend on legacy Human Resource (HR) systems that lack sophisticated capabilities for comprehensive employee data analysis and precise identification of skill gaps. This deficiency impedes effective talent management, resulting in suboptimal workforce development and stunted organizational progress. To address these challenges, this research proposes the design and implementation of an advanced E-Commerce Human Resource Management System (HRMS) that integrates workforce analytics and skill gap assessment tools. The proposed system aims to empower HR departments with the ability to systematically monitor employee performance, evaluate competency levels, and strategically align workforce capabilities with overarching organizational objectives through data-driven decision-making. This project rigorously applied the Agile Scrum methodology, incorporating meticulous sprint planning and iterative development cycles focused on delivering well-defined features. Daily stand-up meetings ensured continuous progress tracking and fostered effective communication and collaboration within the team. Sprint reviews provided structured opportunities to showcase completed functionalities and integrate stakeholder feedback, thereby aligning development outcomes with user expectations. The adoption of continuous integration practices facilitated frequent code commits and rigorous testing, ensuring system stability and rapid issue resolution. Furthermore, the strategic use of project management and communication platforms enhanced coordination and transparency among team members. Throughout the development process, the team remained committed to Agile principles, prioritizing customer satisfaction and maintaining flexibility to adapt swiftly to evolving requirements and stakeholder input. The system incorporates an interactive dashboard that provides clear visualization of essential workforce metrics, including employee performance, reimbursement workflows, and helpdesk efficiency. Its skill gap analysis module produces detailed reports that assess alignment between current competencies and organizational requirements, highlighting specific areas for improvement. Preliminary evaluations confirmed the system’s precision in identifying skill deficiencies and delivering actionable training recommendations. Additionally, usability testing affirmed the dashboard’s user-friendly design and its effectiveness in facilitating informed decision-making by HR professionals. Stakeholder feedback was instrumental in enhancing system capabilities and optimizing the user experience. The integration of Agile project management principles with a user-centered development methodology ensured that the platform consistently aligned with organizational goals and the evolving needs of end users. Key challenges such as maintaining real-time data accuracy and ensuring scalable system architecture, offered critical insights that will guide future development iterations. Proposed future improvements include augmenting the feedback mechanisms, refining the user interface for greater usability, and incorporating advanced analytical tools to enable ongoing performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
