Abstract

Physical violence is a pervasive issue that inflicts profound psychological, emotional, and physical harm on victims and their families worldwide. In Pasong Putik, Quezon City, a rapidly developing urban area, incidents of physical violence have emerged as a critical concern for law enforcement, policymakers, and the community. Such violence disrupts social stability and highlights the need to understand the underlying behaviors and motivations of suspects involved. This study aims to provide an in-depth assessment of the behavior of suspects in physical violence cases within Barangay Pasong Putik. Data will be gathered from fifty (50) respondents directly connected to these cases to support a comprehensive analysis. The researchers will employ an appropriate sampling technique to assess the behavior of suspects involved in physical violence cases in Pasong Putik, Quezon City. This study adopts a quantitative descriptive research design to examine key variables. Data collection will involve structured interviews and observations to gain in-depth understanding, complemented by survey questionnaires for statistical analysis. After obtaining approval from the dean’s office, the researcher personally administered the questionnaires to respondents in Pasong Putik, ensuring accurate distribution and providing clarifications when necessary. Among the Behavioral Patterns, the most significant factor identified was the influence of alcohol and drugs as a common trigger for violent behavior, highlighting their role in impulsive aggression. In terms of Family Background, the absence of parental guidance was the predominant factor contributing to violent behavior, emphasizing the vital importance of supervision in behavioral development. Future researchers are encouraged to broaden the scope of this study by conducting a comparative analysis across various year levels, departments, or institutions. Additionally, incorporating qualitative methods such as interviews or focus group discussions could offer deeper insights into the community's assessment of suspected physical violence behaviors.
