Abstract

This study aims to evaluate how prepared the students and staff are in terms of emergency
once the disaster arises. Also, it is important to know if the staff are properly trained and
knowledgeable on how to operate the equipment and if they can teach and guide their
students once the disaster arrives. Also, this study introduces the emergency response plan of
Bestlink College of the Philippines. With the support of this plan and according to Emergency
and Disaster Management, the primary trend driving emergency management today is risk-
based planning for weather-related disasters and other natural disasters that not only cause
significant economic damage but also have a significant negative impact on those affected by
the events. Being prepared will lessen the negative impact produced by these calamities, and
it can also reduce fear, anxiety, and losses. The most important issue in this regard is to have
proper knowledge, training, and awareness regarding the consequences of emergencies and
disasters.

Based on the findings of the study, the school must find ways to be prepared for different
circumstances. Different methods and training must be applied to lessen the damage and/or
prevent greater mishaps in the moment of any disaster. Bestlink College of the Philippines
must conduct safety drills and training on the main campus because most of the respondents
agree that they are not prepared when disasters arise.

The School Administrators should initiate the conduct of emergency drills and training inside
the school for all students, faculties, and staff so that they know what to do when an
emergency or disaster happens; everyone must be prepared to handle their safety. Develop a
plan for securing safety and implement training inside to school and become familiar to the
tools and equipment. Conduct regular testing for the tools and equipment and evaluation for
an emergency response plan to ensure its effectiveness, and students and teachers should
take the drills seriously.
