Abstract

Riots are one of the most common problems faced by Barangay Gulod, District V at
Novaliches Quezon City, and sometimes cause damage to other infrastructure belonging to
the Barangay, injuries to those involved in it, and sometimes even cause the loss of some
lives. Having peace and order in a Barangay is very important because it teaches correct
behavior and explains wrongdoings and their effects.


The study revealed that the respondents “Agree” to the following: “Streetlights are installed to
maintain see-through roads,” especially "riot,” and “CCTV cameras are installed to easily
identify rioters.” “Poor implementation of Barangay ordinances to keep the community safe,
especially during night time when riots are being initiated. The researcher proposed some
measures to address the problems encountered by the Barangay in preventing riots, like
further strengthening security in the Barangay, such as the installation of CCTVs and
streetlights to better guard every corner of the Barangay, and last is the community support
necessary to explain to the Barangay that any policies implemented by a Barangay will not be
successful if there is no support from the people contained in it or in a Barangay.
