Proposed Renovation of Metropolitan Theater as Metropolitan Museum

Abstract

One of the main problems of the Philippines is old places or historical places, that is, how to make it classical in the order of the design and make it usable for everyone. The researchers want to help the Philippines to renovate the Metropolitan Theatre into Metropolitan Museum for its beautification. This study was conducted to construct a miniature of the Metropolitan Museum to determine the level of acceptability. Quantitative research was used as the design for the study while utilizing a purposive sampling to gather respondents in assessing the level of acceptability of the Metropolitan Museum miniature. Using a questionnaire, the researchers conducted a survey to determine whether a proposed project is acceptable in terms of design, feasibility, and presentation. The results of the study in terms of concept, design, feasibility, and presentation were highly acceptable as assessed by STEM teachers and architects. The results indicated no significance between the assessments of the two groups of respondents in terms of the cited variables. Meanwhile, STEM teachers obtained an overall weighted mean of 4.29, which was interpreted as acceptable, with a variance of 0.0324. Architects obtained an overall weighted mean of 3.65, which was interpreted as highly acceptable, with a variance of 0.0014. STEM teachers and architects had a T-computed value of 1.51 and a degree of freedom of 8 with a value of 2.89646. The t-computed value was larger than the t-critical one. As a result, the assessment of the two groups of respondents was accepted. The subsequent discussion forwarded by the two groups of respondents is as follows: use colors and add paintings and additional lights. The researchers need to pay attention to finish the project study well.
