Proposed Evacuation Center in Tacloban City, Leyte
This study aims to construct the proposed evacuation center in Tacloban City, Leyte. The researchers encountered problems, one of which is how the respondents assess the level of acceptability in terms of the concept, structural design, suitability of materials, and presentation, which is known as the statement of the study. The study will give the readers and future researchers knowledge on the importance of construction. Further reading the content will give the readers or future researchers important details such as how the miniature is constructed and results and discussions. The researchers conducted a floor plan and a template that is a necessity for the project, followed by the formulation of methods as a guide to the construction of the bridge. Lastly, the researchers discussed and tried several materials to achieve the most suitable for the project. The chosen materials were used to produce the miniature. When the product was done, the researchers constructed survey questionnaires and surveyed two groups of respondents, that is, 15 architecture students and 15 Civil Engineering students. The collected data will be processed using statistical tools to answer the statement of the problem. Through the data gathered, the researchers found out that the twogroups of respondents assessed the level of acceptability by using the Likert scale and obtained the results in terms of concept, structural design, suitability of materials, and presentation. The results were 3.55 for Civil Engineering students, which was interpreted as strongly agree, and 3.38 for Architecture students, which was interpreted as agree. The data gathered showed no significant difference between the assessments of the two groups of respondents in terms of the aforementioned variables. The results of the study showed that the correct materials can achieve the expectation such as the toughness and quality of the project. The results of the study also showed that the proper handling of funds, proper methods, and correct floor plans can lead to the success of the project. These findings were also connected to a previous study entitled Improving Evacuation Planning and Shelter Site Selection for Flood Disaster: Thai Flooding Case Study (2017). This study had some limitations including some methods, materials, and designs that can lead to another research.
