Abstract

Graduates of Penal Institutions (GOPIs), individuals who have completed their sentences and are reintegrating into society, often encounter significant challenges that hinder their successful transition. These challenges include societal stigma, employment barriers, and limited access to essential support services. This study employed a quantitative research method, specifically a descriptive research design, to analyze numerical data pertaining to the research variables. Quantitative research involves collecting and examining numerical data to identify patterns, test hypotheses, and generalize findings to broader populations. The demographic profile indicates a youthful respondent base, with notable representation from age groups 26 to 33 (30%), 34 to 41 (23.33%), and 18 to 25 (16.66%). Sixty percent are males, forty percent are females, and a significant portion, 63%, are single. Different levels of education exist, with college graduates being the most prevalent (35%), followed by high school and college-level graduates (16.66% each). They recognize both the advantages and disadvantages of job opportunities for former offenders, highlighting issues such as social stigma and limited job availability. They emphasize the necessity of comprehensive support systems to address ex-offenders' varying needs and facilitate their effective reintegration into society The results highlighted the need for comprehensive support systems and policy changes to assist graduates of penal institutions (GOPI) in successfully reintegrating into society. Proposals consist of arranging networking gatherings and employment fairs, forming community support systems for guidance and mentorship, and developing centralized resource hubs in all cities for essential services. Promoting reforms in the justice system that emphasize equity and rehabilitation is considered essential for effective societal reintegration
