Abstract

Job seekers and recruiters face numerous challenges in the recruitment process, including complex application processes and time-consuming tasks like applicant screening and onboarding. A web-based system called "Recruitment: Enhanced Applicant Tracking with Onboarding and Orientation" aims to address these issues by centralizing data and streamlining tasks. Key features include comprehensive job categorization, streamlined job request management, a centralized list of applicants, efficient applicant assessment, efficient contract agreement management, comprehensive orientation materials, and a seamless onboarding process to ensure that new employees are acquainted. This system offers a user-friendly interface for job seekers to find relevant positions and navigate application processes, while recruiters can use it to attract, evaluate, and onboard top talent seamlessly. By leveraging technology to optimize the recruitment journey, this system saves time and resources, enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the process. The project team began by analyzing gathered data, searching for how the process of recruiting applicants and finding jobs works, and also our experience applying to the company for the job online. Insights gained, we constructed Product Backlog Items for our sprints. These were complemented by daily standup meetings and sprint retrospectives, ensuring continual progress and adaptation. This iterative approach empowered us to align closely with stakeholder needs and enhance our system effectively. The data that we gathered was used as a blueprint for creating our system. It showed us how to design our system, what we processes needed to make it work and even gave us ideas for features to include. So, by using this data, we were able to create a solid plan for building a system that makes recruiting easier.
