Impact Of Study Habits on Academic Performances of Selected Grade 12 General Academic Strand Students in Bestlink College of The Philippines

Study habits are the behavior when preparing for a test or learning academic material. One’s academic performance is affected by your study habits. The researchers conducted this research to determine the impact of study habits on the academic performance of the students. The quantitative-descriptive method was used here to collect quantifiable information to be used for statistical of the population sample. This study involved 50 General Academic Strand students as respondents to assess the impact of their study habits on their academic performances. Based on the summary, the weighted means for male and female respondents were 4.23 and 4.39, respectively, both of which strongly agreed that setting priorities affects their study habits. The weighted means for male and female respondents were 4.25 and 4.11, respectively, both of which strongly agreed that reviewing affects their study habits. In terms of advanced reading, the weighted means for male and female respondents were 4.18 and 4.14, respectively, both of which strongly agreed that advanced reading affects their study habits. The overall weighted means for male and female respondents were 4.21 and 4.21, respectively, both of which strongly agreed that setting priorities, reviewing, and advance reading has an impact on their study habits. Students should write down assignments and appointments and write a to-do list. Students should have any surprise about how and what they will be graded for. Students should study in a quiet place where they can focus without disturbances. They should also create a study plan and allow ample time to prepare, and think positively to have the right mindset. Students should work in groups to help each student when they are struggling to understand the concept. The student must concentrate, pay attention to the teacher, and avoid distraction. Students should review for tests by using several strategies. Students should also make sure that they understand the book they reading and look up unfamiliar words. Students should think about their future.
