This study aims to assess the proficiency of Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSOs) in Barangay Dulap by evaluating their skills, knowledge, and overall effectiveness in managing incidents and emergencies. By identifying their strengths and areas needing improvement, the research seeks to offer actionable recommendations to enhance their capabilities and support the development of a safer and more secure community. In the Philippines, the barangay serves as the cornerstone of local governance and community safety. Central to this system are the BPSOs, commonly known as “tanods,” who play a vital role as first responders to crimes, emergencies, and natural disasters. This chapter presents the research methodology used in the study, detailing the research design, the rationale behind selected procedures, the respondents, the research instrument, sampling techniques, validation and administration processes, and the statistical treatment applied to analyze the data. The study adopted a descriptive research design, which aims to provide a clear picture of the current situation by describing the characteristics of the data. The primary goal of the research is to understand the thought processes and perceptions of the selected population. Titled An Evaluation of the Proficiency of Barangay Public Safety Officers in Barangay Dulap, Pasolo, Valenzuela City, the study involved a total of fifty (50) respondents. These were divided into two groups: ten (10) Barangay Public Safety Officers and forty (40) residents of Barangay Dulap, Pasolo, Valenzuela City. This chapter presents the data collected by the researchers, accompanied by tables, analysis, and interpretation. It covers the demographic profile of the respondents, the results of the survey questions, and the statistical tools used to analyze the findings. The presentation is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of how the data supports the study’s objectives and research questions. This chapter presents the summary and conclusions of the study on the evaluation of Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSOs) in Barangay Dulap, Pasolo, Valenzuela City. It outlines the key challenges faced by BPSOs in responding to various incidents and emergencies and offers strategic recommendations to enhance their skills, performance, and overall effectiveness in promoting community safety and security.
