Abstract

One of the objectives that an academic institution would want to achieve is to maximize the
learning of students through the employment of relevant facilities, such as a housekeeping
laboratory, front office, kitchen and baking laboratory, bar laboratory, and event management-
related facilities. This goal can be achieved specifically for an effective hotel management
curriculum when the facilities, laboratories, and equipment are sufficient and in good working
order, and the learners are provided enough activities to carry out with the aid of the facilities.
Part of the quest of the Hospitality Management department of Bestlink College of the
Philippines is to become a holistic ground for learning and training that inspires and develops
hoteliers, restaurateurs, and entrepreneurs committed to the highest intellectual, moral, and
cultural standards that contribute to the global society. Hence, BCP provides kitchen tools and
equipment and other laboratory equipment that are important elements of every institution that
offers hotel and restaurant management. This requirement is mandatory for colleges and
universities offering a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management as per Commission on
Higher Education Memorandum Order #62 Series of 2017, section 20, page 27

According to the findings, the Department of BSHM must devote all of its attention to the
research findings in order to improve the academic performance of the students; the
laboratory equipment room must be well-ventilated for the comfort of the students; laboratory
equipment is crucial to each learner's holistic development because it involves multiple tasks
to understand complex concepts; and maintenance of the laboratory equipment is required to
prevent unneeded problems, and improve students’ academic behavior, which in turn makes
them better individuals in the future.

Based on the findings, it can be suggested that laboratories be improved for a better learning
experience; this simply demonstrates the necessity of laboratories for students' better
learning. Well-organized and can accommodate all the students; having complete, effective,
and adequate equipment can improve and facilitate the learning environment; efficient
equipment must be chosen for the laboratory.
