Abstract

This study aimed to assess the knowledge, skills, and abilities of Bachelor of Science in
Hospitality Management students to basic safety training at Bestlink College of the
Philippines. It sought to identify the effectiveness of BST in terms of physical, mental, learning,
attitude, and training; the problems encountered by the respondents during their basic safety
training; and lastly, a proposed output to enhance the BST program among Hospitality
Management students.
The majority of respondents assess the effectiveness of basic safety training in terms of
physical, mental, learning, attitude, and training, with the result of strongly agree. The data
shows that most of the respondents encountered different problems in basic safety training;
most of the respondents say that the problems they encountered were the financial difficulties
among students that must be used for their training.
The researchers recommend that students ages 21-25 years old should undergo basic safety
training, and Bestlink College of the Philippines should continue to facilitate the basic safety
training; it is most needed by the students to gain knowledge, improve their skills, and expand
their perception about the safety training. The researchers recommend that the facilitator
should be considerate of the financial capacity of the students to provide an insufficient time
frame to really understand the concept of basic safety training.
