Abstract
The smartphone is becoming a compelling learning tool for enhancing distance education, it fundamentally altered the way teachers, schools, and students communicated. Students could use an e-learning system or a mobile learning system to access school databases or notices on their devices. Manual task could be reduced with the help of learning tools. Its application ensures flexible course delivery, allow learners to access online learning platforms, course resources, and interact digitally. Smartphones can be used to provide learners with access to privileged information and supports that are not limited to calls and messages.
We as a researcher, want to contribute towards a sustainable solution to this problem brought by this topic. We come up to this title to pique the reader's interest and highlight the research problem under consideration and to raise awareness to the impact of smartphone usage on the students. this study provides valuable information for a community or the general population that will possibly help us to be more responsible on our responsibilities not just a student but a citizen.
The researchers utilized the descriptive quantitative method in determining The Smartphone Usage and Academic Performance of 3rd Year Science Major in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Convenience Sampling is used in determining respondents who are from 3rd Year Science major students, for a total of 24 respondents.
