Abstract

Extracurricular activities are generally activities that fall outside the area of the normal curriculum of the school. The benefits of extracurricular activities on Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand students in their academic performance in Bestlink College of the Philippines analysis revealed that regardless of the students’ background prior achievements, parenting, volunteering, and home-learning activities positively influenced the students’ grades. This study used a qualitative method of research to determine the effects of extracurricular activities on Grade 12 HUMSS Strand students on their academic performance in Bestlink College of the Philippines. The researchers administered a survey questionnaire to gather information from selected Grade 12 HUMSS Strand students. A purposive sampling technique was utilized in choosing 50 respondents. Results showed that extracurricular activities and activity performance greatly affected physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Extracurricular activities existed in all communities and schools, both government-owned or private ones. The research found that the effects of extracurricular activities on the academic performance of Grade 12 HUMSS Strand students who suffer from this phenomenon affected academic performance. The research suggested that students must manage their time in extracurricular and academic performances.
