Abstract

This study focused on the effect of 2-hour class sessions on the academic performance of selected Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand students as the basis for a proposed action plan. This study aimed to answer what is the effect of a 2-hour class session on Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand students and how it affects this aspect. Grade 12 students may get hurt by such policy and receive poorer education because of their tiredness by the time or hours of class. This study used the descriptive method. The best qualifiers were respondents who often experience the effectiveness of a 2 h class session on their academic performance. A total of 90 students from the MWF schedule answered the questionnaire. The results showed that students feel tired and lazy, and they may receive a poorer education due to the productivity of the teacher. The average composite weighted mean was 3.82. The researchers concluded that most of the students getting tired on listen to the teachers because of the 2-hour class sessions and some Grade 12 HUMSS Strand students may receive poor education due to the productivity of the teachers. The teachers need to give some energizers for the students to decrease the number of students who are tired and lazy to listen.
