Factors Affecting Choice of Course in College of Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences Strand Students in Bestlink College of the Philippines

This study was conducted to determine the factors that affect the choice of course in college of Grade 12 General Academic Strand students of Bestlink College of the Philippines. The timeliness of the research outcome benefits the graduates of senior high school as they decide and prepare for tertiary education. This research used the descriptive method of research describing how the parent`s decision, peer influence, and student’s abilities affect the choice of program to be taken in college. Survey questionnaires were utilized data in gathering. The group of 90 respondents from the MWF schedule answered that the financial aspect mostly influenced the decision-making process of Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences Strand students in choosing their course in college. The average composite weighted means of 4:24 for tuition fee, 3.97 for projects, and 4.0 for school Bills were the indicators affecting students’ decision in selecting their college courses in Bestlink College of the Philippines. The researchers found out that financial problems affected the academic performance of students in Bestlink College of the Philippines. The researchers hereby suggested that students should know how to handle their finance well to avoid this kind of problem and find ways to gain extra income.
