Abstract

Parental involvement refers to the amount of participation of parents regarding their children’s school life and life in general. The responsibility to socialize and educate children is a shared obligation of parents and schools. For a child to reach academic achievement, parents must be involved and participate in the educational process. The more the parental involvement is, the more the students are likely to become productive members of society and excel in academics. Projects/activities obtained the weighted mean of 3.6 for male participants and 3.8 for female participants, with the verbal interpretation of both strongly agree. Financial support had a weighted mean of 3.6 for male participants and 4.0 for female participants, with the verbal interpretation of both strongly agree. Attitude had a weighted mean of 3.6 for male participants and 4.0 for female participants, with the verbal interpretation of both strongly agree. With an overall weighted mean of 3.6 for male participants and 3.9 for female respondents and verbal interpretation of strongly agree, parental involvement has an impact on the academic achievements of the students in terms of their time management, projects/activities, financial support, and attitude. We recommended the following. Parents must inform their children to balance their time when the students have many school works to do. We suggested that parents should learn about their children’s available time. Some students lack money; when their parents give them money for transportation, they should not waste their money to buy nonsense things. Parents should improve the attitude and behavior of their children by giving a positive influence.
