Abstract

The word siopao literary means “hot bun,” and the Philippines version of Cantonese steamed bunis called chasibao. Siopao is another food of China that became popular in the Philippines; it refers to steamed buns with delicious fillings and is sold mostly in Chinese restaurants or by sidewalk vendors in the Philippines. Milkfish (bangus) is generally fried, made into soup, and even grilled. The fresh meat of bangus can also be used for sashimi, fish cakes, and fish balls. Bangus is a good source of proteins, minerals, and vitamins, as well asomega 3. There are many types of Siopao in our country, and it is a very popular snack for Filipinos. Siopao is commonly visible on the street and is known as street food, and it is the most widely recognized as a Filipino pastry. The researchers used an experimental research design. The sampling technique used in this study was random sampling. The instrument used in this study was a survey questionnaire. The findings showed that the total composite weighted mean for students was 3.80, which had a verbal interpretation of strongly agree. The total composite weighted means for teachers was 3.87, which had a verbal interpretation of strongly agree. Therefore, the difference between the two respondents is not significant. In terms of taste, the two groups of respondents very strongly agreed that bangus siopao has a well-blended flavor and is delicious and appetizing. In terms of aroma, the two groups of respondents moderately agree that it has a pleasant smell. In terms of nutritional value. the respondents strongly agreed that it has vitamins, minerals, and omega 3, which is good for the heart. In terms of presentation, the two respondents strongly agreed that it is well-presented, neat, and clean. Therefore, bangus siopao is acceptable in the market.
