Abstract

A police station is a building that serves to accommodate police officers and other staff. Renovation is a restoring process or remodeling structure to improve an old structure, damaged, and outdated structure. The renovated Sitio Matarik, Barugo, Camarin, Caloocan City Police station will be a care center and office space for the police officers and the criminal or suspect. The research method utilized in this study was a quantitative-experimental research design. The respondents of the study were 5 professional civil engineers and 14 4th Year Architecture Students of Bulacan State University to test the significant differences in the level of acceptability of the project in terms of construction materials, procedural methodology, renovated area, and actual project design. First, we made an underground and found a box to hide the underground; then, we created the first floor, second floor, and roof. The results showed that the assessment of the Civil Engineers was highly acceptable with a variance of 0.026675, a t-computed value of 0.66, and a degree of freedom of 8 with a value of 2.587. The t-computed value was lesser than the t-critical value. Therefore, the assessment of the 4th year Architecture students is rejected. Meanwhile, the acquired overall weighted mean of the 4th year Architecture students was highly acceptable with a variance of 0.031531, a t-computed value of 0.66, and a degree of freedom of 8 with a value of 2.587. The t-computed value was less than the t-critical value. Therefore, the assessment of the civil engineers is rejected. This result indicated that the difference between the assessment of the two groups of respondents on the level of acceptability of the Police Station Renovation Model in terms of construction materials, procedural methodology, renovated area, and actual project design was significant. For further improvement of this project, the following recommendations were forwarded. The researchers should assess the profile of the respondents, such as their socio-economic status. The project base research should also use code, and the researchers must follow the professional’s suggestions to make a successful model construction. The researchers need to manage their time, conduct a financial plan for the project, obtain enough tools for the project, and apply all the recommendations and suggestions.
