The safety and well-being of residents are a top priority in communities worldwide. Emergencies and crises can arise unexpectedly, requiring a swift and effective response to minimize their impact. Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) play a crucial role in maintaining peace, security, and order in residential areas, particularly in the Philippines. This study examines the efficacy of BPATs in Barangay 177, Caloocan City, in terms of their immediate emergency response and their ability to address crises effectively. This study utilized a descriptive quantitative research method and surveyed 30 BPAT personnel and 20 residents from Barangay 177, Caloocan City. The study found that respondents strongly agree with the utilization of BPATs for emergency response in terms of preparedness, timely response, logistics, and knowledge and capabilities. However, key challenges include a lack of training programs, delays in personnel response due to personal issues, and limited resources such as emergency vehicles, medical supplies, and manpower. Insufficient funding and support for training initiatives also hinder access to training materials, instructors, and hands-on simulation exercises. An action plan has been proposed to address these issues. The study recommends that the government increase funding to provide additional medical supplies, emergency response training, and simulation-based drills to enhance BPAT personnel skills. Implementing the proposed measures will help strengthen the efficiency of BPATs in responding to emergencies within Barangay 177, Caloocan City.
