THE EFFECTS OF ANTI-DRUGS ABUSE COMMUNITY PROGRAM AT BARANGAY KALIGAYAHAN QUEZON CITY

Abstract

This study explores the effects of the anti-drug abuse community program implemented in Barangay Kaligayahan. Using sampling techniques and descriptive methods, the research aims to analyze the program’s implementation, outcomes, and broader implications. The findings are intended to provide valuable insights into effective strategies for addressing substance abuse at the community level and contribute to the development of more efficient and targeted interventions. Researchers used a sampling technique to select participants who were directly involved in or impacted by the anti-drug abuse community program in Barangay Kaligayahan. Quantitative data was collected through structured surveys administered to a representative sample of program beneficiaries, barangay employees, law enforcement personnel, and community residents. The survey questions were designed to assess participants' perceptions and experiences regarding the program's effectiveness, focusing on areas such as awareness of drug abuse prevention strategies, access to support services, changes in community dynamics, and challenges faced during implementation. Participants provided responses using a Likert scale, ranging from "Strongly Disagree" to "Strongly Agree." Descriptive analysis of the survey data showed overwhelmingly positive perceptions of the anti-drug abuse community program in Barangay Kaligayahan. Most participants agreed or strongly agreed with statements emphasizing the program’s effectiveness in raising awareness of drug abuse prevention strategies, improving access to support services, promoting positive changes in community dynamics, and overall satisfaction with its implementation. These results indicate that the program has made a significant and favorable impact on the community. The overwhelmingly positive responses from participants emphasize the success of the anti-drug abuse community program in Barangay Kaligayahan. These findings suggest that a collaborative approach, involving community members, local authorities, and support organizations, can effectively raise awareness and bring about meaningful improvements in community well-being. However, while the results are promising, it is important to recognize the need for continuous evaluation and adaptation to address emerging challenges and ensure the long-term sustainability of anti-drug abuse initiatives. Through sustained engagement, collaboration, and innovation, Barangay Kaligayahan can further strengthen its efforts and maximize the program’s impact.
