Abstract

This study explores how teachers assess students in physical education classes, examining not only its effect on grades but also how it influences students' actual physical performance. This chapter outlines the research design, identifies the respondents, and details the data collection methods used within the sample space. It describes the tools and strategies employed to effectively gather and process raw data. The study uses a Descriptive Research design to assess individuals' proficiency levels, aiming to accurately depict their competencies in the given context. Additionally, purposive sampling was employed to select the participants for the study. This study involved four (4) Senior High School Physical Education Teachers from Bestlink College of the Philippines - Millionaires Village Campus, Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City. The purposive sampling technique was used to select the participants. The summary of results indicates that the problems encountered in teachers' assessment criteria in physical education are reflected in the following ratings: quizzes (3.83), performance tasks (3.58), and quarterly exams (3.67), all of which were considered highly effective. The assessment criteria used by the teachers to evaluate physical education include cognitive (3.75), affective (3.67), and psychomotor (3.75) domains. Synthesizes the overarching findings, draws conclusions, and proposes an actionable plan derived from the data presented in the preceding chapter. It provides a comprehensive overview of the research outcomes, underscores their significance, and delineates the strategic steps forward based on the insights garnered from the previous data analysis. The teacher’s assessment criteria in physical education: the effects on the academic performance of Grade 12 senior high school students at Bestlink College of the Philippines are described in terms of quizzes, performance tasks, and quarterly exams. It is considered highly effective in these areas, though further improvements are needed. Arrange study and tutorial sessions where students actively participate in collaborative problem-solving exercises and activities aimed at grasping the foundational principles of physical education.
