Abstract

This study examines job satisfaction and job hygiene among employees of JET Express in Deparo, Caloocan City, based on Herzberg’s Job Motivator and Hygiene Factors. It also aims to determine employees’ overall job satisfaction and identify key factors influencing their workplace experience. A descriptive-correlational research design was utilized. The study involved 126 employees from various departments at JET Express Deparo, Caloocan City. Data were collected using survey questionnaires, and the findings were analyzed to determine relationships between job satisfaction and hygiene factors. The findings indicate that 63% of respondents are female, with the majority (39%) aged 26-30 and 56% holding college degrees. In terms of tenure, 42% have served 3-5 years, while 46% earn between 20,001 to 25,000 units. Employees express high job satisfaction in aspects such as achievement, advancement, recognition, responsibilities, and the nature of their work, indicating a supportive and communicative environment. Job hygiene factors also received positive feedback, with employees satisfied with salary opportunities, work conditions, supervision, policy fairness, and interpersonal relationships. However, newer employees reported varying satisfaction levels compared to long-tenured staff, highlighting the need for better support for recent hires. Recommendations include investing in employee development, improving recognition systems, addressing salary concerns, managing workloads, and fostering transparent communication to enhance overall job satisfaction. The study reveals that most employees at JET Express are early to mid-career professionals with college degrees and moderate earnings. While the company emphasizes workplace support and communication, improvements in pay structure and workload management are necessary. Despite fostering inclusivity and workplace cleanliness, further research is needed to explore other factors affecting job satisfaction. Addressing these areas can enhance employee well-being and overall organizational performance.
