Abstract

Telemedicine is a technology that facilitates the delivery of remote medical services and has significantly transformed access to healthcare since its emergence in the early 20th century. With the advancement of mobile devices and internet connectivity, telemedicine has expanded into various modalities, including telesurgery, teleradiology, remote patient monitoring, and virtual consultations. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated its adoption, making telemedicine applications more mainstream, with enhanced features and greater integration with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Telehealth continues to revolutionize the healthcare industry by enabling convenient access to care, improving patient outcomes, and promoting system-wide efficiency. This study employs a quantitative research approach, utilizing convenience sampling to select participants who have previously used telemedicine. A survey questionnaire was administered to 50 respondents from BCP Bulacan to examine their experiences and perceptions regarding healthcare access through telemedicine. The responses provided insights into the accessibility, efficiency, and limitations of the telemedicine page as experienced by the users. Findings revealed that respondents perceived telemedicine as a convenient and efficient method of receiving healthcare, particularly when in-person consultations were not feasible. However, limitations were noted, such as the inability to perform physical examinations. Students highlighted the benefit of receiving medical attention without the need to leave their classes, thereby saving time. The telemedicine page was recognized for offering timely access to care for minor injuries or illnesses and providing flexibility that reduces the need for class absences. This case study examined the impact of a telemedicine page on healthcare access among teachers and students at BCP Bulacan. Results indicated that telemedicine provided reliable, accessible, and easy-to-understand healthcare information. Teachers and students reported that the content improved their health literacy and equipped them with practical knowledge applicable to real-life situations. The study underscores the relevance of telemedicine in enhancing healthcare accessibility and recommends further research to explore its broader applications and integration in academic environments.
