Abstract

School canteens and cafeterias provide convenience and help students' general nutritional
health while providing for a student's nutritional requirements, which enhances behavior,
academic achievement, and cognitive growth. The priority placed on students' health and well-
being can also be reinforced for children, families, and the community by providing healthy
school meals. This Study was created by researchers to evaluate the assessment of meal
affordability of Grade 12 Humanities and social sciences students at Bestlink College of the
Philippines.

The results of the study conveyed the assessment of meal affordability of Grade 12
Humanities and Social Sciences students, which was founded on the results of the findings.
Based on the results, having an affordable meal in the school canteen helps students budget
their allowance, and there are some problems students encounter that can be solved with the
help of this kind of advantage in terms of being able to spend their money wisely.

Additionally, the respondents offer recommendations to determine the effectiveness of the
school canteen in many aspects. The study found that meal affordability should be evaluated
in terms of price, serving, health, and quality. It also highlighted the importance of effective
money management and suggested the canteen make small adjustments to improve physical
health and reduce the risk of disease. Buying affordable meals in BCP can give balance to
students' studies and health.
