Abstract

Social media is slowly changing the way people live on a daily basis. Social media is already
part of our daily lives, especially for students, and through social media, we can learn
something by reading, communicating, watching, and listening. This research was conducted
to determine the influence of social media on the English proficiency of the selected grade 11
humanities and social sciences students.


Based on the study's findings, it has been determined that social media influences the English
proficiency of Grade 11 students studying humanities and social sciences. According to the
results, social media benefits grade 11 Humanities and Social Sciences students, particularly
in terms of connections with others, reading interest, and grammar usage.


This research found that Social media influences the English proficiency of students and helps
them improve their communication, reading skills, and grammar usage. The teachers and
school administrators must conduct reviews and handouts that will help students enhance
their English proficiency.
