Abstract

In this generation, our trash is increasing rapidly. Several students are irresponsibly throwing their trash in the proper trash bin. The setting of our problem is in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Trash bins were present in classrooms, and the researchers wanted to know why trash is still scattered around. Even with the presence of a trash bin, if students do not have discipline, then the trash will still scatter around. This event served as inspiration for the researchers and motivated them to conduct this study. This study has many positive outcomes; it can reduce the amount of trash thrown everywhere by students, satisfy the teachers, and keep their focus on teaching because they will not be irritated again on trash being scattered, and it will promote the cleanliness of the campus. The descriptive method was used here. We used a type of nonprobability sampling method wherein the sample is taken from a group of people that are easy to contact or reach. Placing “ring-like” trash bins in classrooms reduced the amount of garbage being thrown by students and for innovating the students’ discipline on proper waste disposal. A ring-like trash bin was placed in classrooms to decrease the trash and teach the students to be responsible for their surroundings. The researchers conducted this study to improve the discipline of the students about the proper segregation of waste and decrease the trash in the campus or classroom and prevent the rapid increase in the amount of trash.
