Abstract

As the government has already permitted the higher education institution (HEI) to conduct
face-to-face classes, many students from different courses, particularly under the BSHM
Program, are excited to learn different aspects of the hospitality industry, especially molding
their skills inside the hospitality management laboratory. However, the following students are
eager to learn and want to enhance their skills, especially in laboratory activities. The purpose
of this study is to identify the significance of laboratory activities on BSHM students and what
the possible outcome of having a laboratory activity will be.

The researchers found that the amount of time the respondents spend conducting laboratory
activity is affected by the schedule of classes every week and the availability of tools, where
activity suffers from the sufficient tools needed in the laboratory. The respondents conducting
laboratory activity agree to update and upgrade the following laboratory equipment for student
learning. The management needs to ensure that all of the laboratory facilities and equipment
are enough for the number of enrollees and hire additional professors with a background in the
specific subjects.

The students should advance their study about the topic their professor lectured. The
curriculum designer should review and include the subject of the laboratory activity to
maximize the laboratory room. Administrators should implement more instruction or activities
for students to help them learn more about the curriculum. The program head should review
the syllabi and prepare the instructional materials, and the future researcher should improve
this study in the future. It will help them as a student and also the school.
