Abstract

This study was concerned about improving the classroom management as lead by classroom officers and creating strand policies that served as the common guide to all classroom officers of grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM)to improve classroom management. The importance of this study is to equip grade 12 officers in managing their co-students inside and outside the classroom, keep the classroom organized, and build awareness of the students in every situation. The reason why the researchers chose this topic is that they observed that some students disobey the rules and regulations of the school. Different classroom officers also have varying approaches and management styles in dealing with their classmates. The purpose of this study is to guide allGrade 12 ABM students to have awareness of following the same strand rules to develop more distinction from other strands. The researchers sought other strategies on how the students will be reminded of the strand policy with the approval of teachers and strand heads. This study used a descriptive research design because the data were gathered through observation. The method that was used in this study was the survey method. The research design used was descriptive. The respondents of the study were 50Grade 12 ABM students that were selected through purposive sampling. Based on the results of the study creating “Strand Policies” containing general classroom rules and regulations improve the classroom management of grade 12 officers in terms of the following: (1) respect and peace in the class (class officers implement peace and order, resulting to respecting one another especially teachers during classes), (2) cleanliness of the classroom (class officers had the same standard in maintaining the cleanliness in the classroom), and (3) orderliness/proper attire of the students (class officers effectively helped their classmate in obeying the proper school attire during classes). To effectively help the class officers in classroom management, the strand policies should be implemented in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Strand policies contain and discuss the rules and regulations that should be followed by the students and implemented by the teachers with the help of class officers. This harmoniously helps create good classroom management.
