Effects of Improving Flowerpots by Using Old Tires in Grade 12 ABM Strand Students in Bestlink College of the Philippines, S.Y. 2019–2020

Abstract

This research focused on the effectiveness of improving flowerpots using old tires. The study showed the aspects that may improve flowerpot by using old tires inGrade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strandstudents of Bestlink College of the Philippines. Flowerpot using old tires lessens the waste because old tires are the most challenging source of waste. Our study was conducted at Bestlink College of the Philippines, and we observe that there are more flowerpots broken because those are only made of mud. The flowerpot made of mud is easy to break. Thus, we want to use old tires to make flowerpots that will decrease waste and help the environment. This research aimed to determine the effects of improving flower pot by using old tires. This is important to all people who already want to plant and save the environment. This research will provide information if using tires are effective as flowerpots. A quantitative method was used in this study by using the descriptive research design. This study involved 50 selected grade 12 ABM Strandstudents. The study indicated that tires are extremely effective in enhancing flower pot; it gives to the school campus for beautification and improves flower pot; it also produces more benefits for students and teachers, as well as the rest of the officers of the school. This project helped plants to become comfortable because it gives a clean surrounding and fresh air to breathe; the students also have discipline in our society. It also enhanced the plants. It has adequate natural lighting that enhances productivity, and the school was designed to reduce stress, become comfortable, and have a consistent temperature. The study showed the right process of recycling some waste materials that are still useful such as old tires can be used in making flowerpots. In a simple way of recycling, we can help the environment. The researchers recommended that the school administration should support the students who are willing to help in the project to help in school beautification and protect the environment. The students should also have good communication with their teachers to avoid losing interest in their activity and do it without complaining.
