Level of Effectiveness of Putting Line in Middle of Stairs for Safety of Student and Teachers

Abstract

This research focused on the effectiveness of drawing a line in the middle of the stairs to avoid having accidents and arguments in using stairs in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Putting a line in the middle of the stairs with the signage of keep on the right going upstairs and downstairs can prevent misunderstanding, accidents and avoid spending a long time using the stairs. The researchers used the descriptive method in pursuing this study becausethe descriptive method describes what is the certain problem or subject all about. In this action research, we described how the lines in the middle of the stairs can be useful in our school for the safety of the stair users. The descriptive method in pursuing this study because the descriptive method describes what is the certain problem all about. The researchers used the qualitative method in pursuing the study by using the descriptive research design, specifically with the use of a survey questionnaire. The researchers also used random sampling in selecting 50Grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management Strand students as respondents. The effectiveness of putting a line in the middle of the stairs is that the students will develop discipline within themselves. It can help the stair users to prevent accidents and have trouble when using the stairs. Good stairway design can substantially reduce the potential for misstepping. If stairways are placed properly, then stairways help the energy in our home to move up and down easily and smoothly. The variable "quickly going up and down when using stairs" obtained the weighted mean of 4.08% when a line was drawn in the middle of the stairs. The research revealed that drawing a line in the middle of the stairs effectively avoided facing struggles in school surroundings. It also decreased the unexpected incidents that could happen in the school while using the stairs, such as severe injuries or even can cause sudden death.
