Abstract

The researchers created a different version of siomai made of chop suey ingredients to make a healthy version available in the market for children having an imbalanced diet. This product will be interesting because of the new taste, which will make it more delicious. In this study, the researchers used the experimental research method and qualitative research as the research designs to determine the importance of siomsuey(siomai with chop suey). The instrument used by the researchers was a survey questionnaire to gather information from the students. A simple random sampling technique was used to select the respondents. The students had an overall weighted mean of4.20, with the verbal interpretation of strongly agree. Therefore, the students strongly agree with the presented variables in the study. Meanwhile, the teachers obtained the overall weighted mean of4.44, with the verbal interpretation of strongly agree. Hence, the difference between the assessment of the two groups of respondents based on the presented variables is significant. Based on the findings of this study, the product is acceptable. Some factors, such as the uniqueness of the product, the edibility of the main ingredient, and the nutrition that the consumer can get, should be considered. The researchers recommended that future researchers should conduct a study with the same kind of product, that is, siomsuey, to further gather information about it as a nutritious food.
