Abstract

Calamansi, also known as Citrofortunella microcarpa, is a small hybrid citrus plant that has fragrant white flowers and small round fruit. Calamansiisnative to the Philippines and has grown as a houseplant. Brownies are a small square chocolate cake that typically contains nuts. We used calamansi as one of the main ingredients of our product because calamansi is rich in ascorbic acid, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Calamansi is also a natural skin bleaching agent that can lighten your skin and even out the tone remarkably. This study utilized experimental research that strictly adheres to a scientific research design. It includes a hypothesis, a variable that can be manipulated by the researchers, and variables that can be measured, calculated, and compared. A simple random sampling technique was used in this study. Each respondent was chosen randomly and entirely by chance. A survey questionnaire was the instrument used in this study. We summarized the overall weighted mean of taste, aroma, presentation, and nutritional value. In terms of taste, the weighted mean for students was2.7, which was acceptable, and that for teachers was 3.8, which was highly acceptable. In terms of aroma, students and teachers had the weighted means of 3.5 and 3.8, respectively, with had the verbal interpretation of highly acceptable for both. In terms of presentation, the students had a weighted mean of3.4, with the verbal interpretation of acceptable, and teachers had a weighted mean of 3.3, with the verbal interpretation of acceptable. In terms of the nutritional value, the students had a weighted mean of 3.5, with the verbal interpretation of highly acceptable. The teachers had a weighted mean of 3.8, with the verbal interpretation of highly acceptable. The researchers used calamansi zest to their innovative brownies to add flavor because calamansi zest has a nutrient that our body needs. Future researchers should conduct a further study about making an innovative products using calamansi zest because it may help us have beautiful skin, which is one of the problems of teenagers nowadays. Thus, if we make more products with calamansi, we can help people who want healthy skin.
