Abstract

Barangay serves as a local community service, providing space for permanent and temporary services. Renovation is a restoring process or remodeling structure that makes a new structure to improve an old, damaged, and outdated structure. The barangay outpost will be renovated to become a care center and office space for barangay officials. Its new model will have a medical center, detention room, and an office, which is different from a normal Barangay outpost. The quantitative-experimental research method was mainly used as a research design for conducting this project, and purposive sampling was used to select 5 civil engineers and 14 4th-year Architecture students of Bulacan State University as respondents in assessing the level of acceptability of the renovated barangay outpost miniature in terms of materials used, procedures, methodology, construction of the project, renovated area, and presentation. To create our miniature, all materials needed should be prepared, and then the new floor plan should be done. The miniature in terms of materials used, procedural methodology, construction of the project, renovated area, and presentation was acceptable. Therefore, the difference between the assessments of the two groups of respondents is significant. The obtained overall weighted mean of civil engineers was 4.46, with the variance of 0.0176, a t-computed value of 1.081, and a degree of freedom of 17, with the t-critical value of 2.567. The t-computed value was less than the t-critical one, Therefore, the remarks of the electrical engineer are rejected. Meanwhile, the obtained overall weighted mean of the Architecture students was 4.54, with the variance of 0.0295, a t-computed value of 1.081, and a degree of freedom of 17 with the value of 2.567. The t-computed value was less than the t-critical one. Therefore, the remarks of civil engineering students are rejected. The respondents recommended the following to improve the miniature: focus on constructing and further development of the renovated area, use batteries/power sources that can maintain the appropriate power of the light and run another mechanism that is presented on the miniature, and refer to different designs, laws guidelines, and construction of area that apply to the miniature.
